A Live Look into our National Safety Stand Down Fall Protection Event
Our safety and supply business was founded on meaningful relationships and community. As Becker Safety has grown to serve the energy, construction, and first responder industries over the years, that culture has not changed. In September, our team was excited to host a live fall protection demo in honor of National Safety Stand Down Week. After months of isolation, it was refreshing for our team members to connect with customers in person and provide a quality training opportunity.
According to OSHA, fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 320 of the 1,008 construction fatalities recorded in 2018 (BLS data). We believe those deaths were preventable. The National Safety Stand-Down raises fall hazard awareness across the country to prevent fall fatalities and injuries. At the event, Marc Melazija and The OES Products group presented on the ABC’s of Fall Protection and demonstrated the various ways in which we often misuse fall protection equipment. Customers learned about the latest and greatest Falltech anchors, harnesses, and lifelines. We also walked through the evolution of head protection and showcased versatile head protection equipment by KASK Safety. Marc wrapped up the event with a live fall protection demo so customers could see the products in action.

At the end of the training, customers had the opportunity to connect with our team and ask more specific questions. Our customer relations team is passionate about safety and enjoyed the opportunity to learn about customer’s pain points in the field.
